The Waipara Luxe Experience
Indulge in this all‑inclusive, curated wine and food experience through the beautiful Waipara Valley, visiting three of the most acclaimed wineries in this distinctive and diverse cool‑climate region. With limestone‑rich soils and its own unique micro‑climate, Waipara produces some of New Zealand’s finest Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Riesling - along with exceptional food. Enjoy premium tasting flights at Pegasus Bay, Greystone and Black Estate, and savour superb cuisine at Greystone’s award‑winning restaurant.
After collection from your central Christchurch accommodation, we head north on a scenic 50‑minute drive to our first stop, Pegasus Bay. Here you’ll taste through their flagship reserve wines before taking time to wander the extensive gardens surrounding the winery.
Next is Greystone - we begin with a tasting of five superb small‑production organic wines before settling in for an exceptional lunch including a mezze‑style starter and your choice of main course complemented with a glass of wine. The menu showcases local, organic, seasonal produce - much of it grown and raised on the Greystone estate.
After lunch, we take the short drive to the stylish Black Estate cellar door to finish the day sampling a selection of their exceptional terroir‑driven wines from their four distinct vineyard sites. We also take in some incredible views across the Waipara Valley to the Southern Alps.
The Waipara Luxe Experience is a slow‑paced, indulgent day designed for guests who want to savour Waipara’s finest producers and explore the bounty of North Canterbury.

The Wineries
You’ll visit three boutique, family‑owned and highly-acclaimed vineyards in the Waipara Valley. All are locally owned, proudly independent, and full of character.

Pegasus Bay Winery — One of Waipara's pioneering wineries and arguably the region’s most iconic producer. Set amongst beautiful gardens and world-renowned for their Pinot Noir, Riesling, and extraordinary dessert wines.

Greystone — Likely North Canterbury’s most awarded winery with world class Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris. Certified organic and known for their innovative vineyard and winemaking practices.

Black Estate — A family‑owned, certified organic and biodynamic winery producing exceptional terroir‑driven wines from four small hillside vineyards with various combinations of limestone, clay and sandstone soils.
Important Information

Departure Point - Pick-up from your central Christchurch accommodation or pre‑arranged location between 10:00 and 10:30am. Lyttelton pick-up can be arranged for an additional charge of $60 per group.
